Yogas-citta-vrtti-nirodhah – Yoga is the cessation of the
fluctuations of the mind PATANJALI
Yoga is an ancient Indian practice – the first written references
can be found in about 200 B.C by the sage Patanjali, it is one of the
longest standing practices for the human spirit. The word Yoga means
“union” or “yoking” describing the quest to
achieve unification with the divine spirit. Yoga seeks to purify the
mind, body and spirit leading to a sense of harmony and has many health
benefits.
Ashtanga Vinyasa sytem
Astanga Vinyasa Yoga is a series of postures, dynamically and gracefully
synchronized with breath and movement. Benefits
include:
- steadiness of body and mind
- increased core strength & muscle toning
- expelling unwanted toxins and purifying the nervous system & internal
organs
- a deeper awareness of ourselves
